German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Tuesday condemned the intensive Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, saying they “can no longer be justified and are no longer logical.”
According to the Palestinian News Agency (Wafa), Merz said during a press conference in Finland: “The intensive military strikes carried out by the Israelis in the Gaza Strip no longer make any sense to us.”
He added: “I, too, am not among those who took the initiative to say this… but it seems to me that the time has come to say publicly that what is happening now is no longer logical.”
Earlier, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul stated that his country would not stand in solidarity with Israel by force, expressing his shock at the Israeli campaign on the Gaza Strip, which deprives its residents of food and medicine.
