Today, vehicles officially began crossing the Sana’a-Aden road via Dhale, in accordance with an initiative launched by the leadership in Sana’a about a year ago.
The acting governor of Dhale, Abdul Latif Al-Shagdari, affirmed the guarantee of freedom of movement for travelers and traders in areas controlled by the Sana’a government, calling on the other side to adhere to religious, national, and moral principles.
Al-Shagdari indicated that this step came in response to an initiative launched by the Supreme Political Council a year ago, and that today it has culminated in the passage of vehicles and tankers from Sana’a to Aden.
The acting governor previously noted that the other side had previously refused to open the road during Ramadan last year, despite coordination efforts that lasted for about six months. However, the other side reneged on its promise, opening fire on the mediation committee upon its arrival in the Maris area to reopen the road.
He pointed out that the other side also thwarted efforts to open the road in 2019, attempting to advance on the outskirts of Damt and blocking the road.
