Power Outage Kills Couple In Aden

In a tragic incident that reflects depth of the humanitarian crisis in Aden, a couple died of suffocation inside their car in the Al-Mamdara area, as a result of inhaling toxic carbon monoxide gas emitted from the car’s exhaust, while trying to escape the intense heat caused by chronic power outages.

According to medical, security, and media sources, the couple—who preferred to sleep inside their car with the engine running and the windows closed—were transported in critical condition to Al-Naqeeb Specialist Hospital in Mansoura, where they were pronounced dead upon arrival.

This incident reveals the catastrophic repercussions of the ongoing electricity crisis in the governorate, forcing residents to adopt dangerous solutions to cope with the soaring temperatures, in the absence of any effective solutions from the mercenary government.

Activists and human rights organizations are demanding urgent action to address the electricity crisis, which has become a daily struggle for citizens amid the deafening silence of the occupiers and their mercenary henchmen. They warn of the worsening humanitarian situation with the continued rise in temperatures and the lack of basic services.
