Senior Officials Inspect Damage To Dhabhan Power Station After Israeli Airstrikes

On Wednesday, First Deputy Prime Minister Al-Allamah Mohammed Muftah, Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Water Dr. Ali Saeed, and Mayor of Capital Sana’a Dr. Hamoud Ou’bad visited the central Dhabhan power station to inspect damage resulting from recent Israeli airstrikes.

Accompanied by Deputy Minister of Electricity and Water Adel Badr and Director-General of the Electricity Corporation Dr. Mishal Al-Rifi, the delegation received a detailed briefing from station officials on the destruction inflicted by the attack.

Deputy Prime Minister Muftah condemned the targeting of the Dhabhan station, a civilian facility providing essential services. He denounced the deliberate assault on Yemen’s infrastructure as an attempt to pressure the Yemeni people into abandoning their principled stance in support of Gaza and the Palestinian cause.

He emphasized that targeting civilian facilities constitutes a war crime under international law and humanitarian standards.

Muftah further stated that the crimes committed by the US-Israeli coalition add to their already extensive record of violations. He reaffirmed Yemen’s unwavering support for the Palestinian resistance, Al-Aqsa, and the martyrs of Gaza and Yemen.

Minister of Electricity Dr. Ali Saeed also condemned the strikes, which targeted not only the Dhabhan and Haziz power stations but also the Asr control center and electrical transformers in Al-Aman and Kula Jidar (Bani Al-Harith District).

He stressed that attacking Yemen’s power infrastructure demonstrates the Zionist enemy’s failure to subjugate the Yemeni people and held both the US and Israel fully responsible for targeting essential public services.

Saeed called on the United Nations and international human rights organizations to condemn the attacks and fulfill their obligations to protect civilian infrastructure.

Sana’a Mayor Dr. Hamoud  Ou’bad emphasized that the attacks on essential infrastructure reflect the inability of the US-Israeli alliance to shake Yemen’s firm support for Gaza.

He emphasized that such attacks only strengthen Yemen’s moral and religious commitment to stand with the Palestinian people.

Deputy Minister Adel Badr added that the destruction of the Dhabhan and Haziz power stations reflects not only military failure but deep-seated animosity toward the Yemeni people.

He condemned the silence of the international community and the United Nations regarding the attacks on civilian infrastructure, calling on the UN, the Security Council, and humanitarian organizations to assume their responsibilities and take action to stop the genocide being carried out by “Israel” and the US in Yemen and Palestine.
