Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez responded to a member of parliament’s comments regarding Spanish trade with the “genocidal state” of Israel, using the same term: “We do not conduct trade with a state that practices genocide.”
He emphasized that his country’s policy would be based on “commitment to human rights,” adding that “what is happening in the Gaza Strip cannot be justified under any pretext.”
It is worth noting that Spain was among the first European countries to cut military aid to Israel, demand an immediate end to the war on the Gaza Strip, and support legal action against it at the International Court of Justice.
