Yesterday, the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia imposed a stifling siege on hundreds of women to prevent them from reaching the Al-Aroud Square protest against deteriorating living and service conditions in the city center of Aden.
Media sources reported that STC members, deployed heavily in military vehicles in the Khormaksar area, closed most of the main and side streets to the women, preventing them from entering the square to demand electricity and a decent standard of living.
The sources confirmed that militia leaders deployed dozens of their female members to curb the demonstrations by thousands of Adeni women demanding an end to the systematic starvation policy pursued by the aggression coalition against the city’s residents, who are denied even the most basic services, such as electricity and water, amid recurring suffering since 2016.
Meanwhile, hundreds of Crater residents staged a protest on Saturday afternoon at the Al-Ful roundabout, demanding the release of activist Fouad Al-Diqan, who has been kidnapped by STC factions, and all young men who were abducted for demanding the provision of services and an end to the deteriorating living conditions in the city.
Aden, under the control of the aggression coalition, is experiencing a living disaster due to the economic collapse and the lack of various services, including electricity and water, amid the failure of the mercenary government to halt the deteriorating living conditions and famine ravaging the city and other southern governorates.
