Yemeni Officials, ICRC Inspect Hodeidah Port After Israeli Airstrikes

A delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, along with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), inspected the damage to Hodeidah Port today after it was struck by Israeli airstrikes.

During the visit, Ismail Al-Mutawakel, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and  Christine Cipolla, Head of the ICRC Mission in Yemen, along with Makram Sawa, Deputy Head of the ICRC Mission in Hodeidah, assessed operations at the container terminal.

They received a detailed briefing from Captain Mohammed Al-Sais, the terminal director, on the extent of damage to port infrastructure and its impact on operational capacity.

For her part, Christine Cipolla , Head of the ICRC Mission in Yemen, commended the dedication of port personnel.

She stated: “Despite the visible damage, we observed a high level of operational readiness today. This reflects a clear commitment to maintaining humanitarian operations and ensuring aid reaches those in need without interruption.”
