Sultan Al-Samie, a member of the Supreme Political Council, and First Deputy Prime Minister Mohammed Muftah inspected the progress of rehabilitation efforts at Sana’a International Airport, following heavy damage caused by the Israeli aggression.
Accompanied by Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohammed Quhim, his deputy, and the Chairman of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorological, Yahya Al-Siani, the officials oversaw debris removal operations in key airport areas, including terminals, the main runway, and aircraft apron.
Emergency response measures have been initiated immediately by the Civil Aviation Authority, based on a pre-prepared emergency plan aligned with ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) standards, as explained by Airport Director Khaled Al-Shayef.
Al-Samie praised the resilience of airport staff, describing the strike as a full-fledged crime and a blatant violation of international law.
He reiterated Yemen’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people, vowing that this attack “will not go unanswered” and that the enemy should expect retaliation.
For his part, Mohammed Muftah commended the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation Authority for their commitment.
“The airport will be ready within days, and the upcoming humanitarian flight will mark a turning point toward the resumption of civilian flights despite the blockade and aggression,” he said.
Quhim confirmed that technical and engineering work is progressing rapidly to resume humanitarian flights, including the return of patients and stranded Yemenis.
Relevant authorities, including the Roads and Bridges Corporation and the Road Maintenance Fund, were directed to intensify efforts and provide necessary equipment to ensure readiness in record time.
