Consistent media reports confirmed that the ‘mercenary government,’ based in Aden’s Ma’ashiq Palace, has imposed its third gasoline price increase since the beginning of June.
According to sources, the government raised the price of a 20-liter gallon of gasoline to 37,900 riyals—an increase of 2,000 riyals—coinciding with a worsening domestic gas crisis in the city.
This marks the third consecutive hike in June alone, with prices climbing from 33,900 riyals to 35,900 riyals before reaching the current rate.
The coalition-backed administration routinely raises fuel prices following each new collapse of the Yemeni rial against foreign currencies, using these hikes to cover budget deficits.
The increase comes amid ongoing popular protests demanding better living conditions, unpaid salaries, electricity shortages, and soaring food prices. The move is expected to have devastating consequences across all sectors.”
