Hamas Rejects Witkoff’s Proposal For Not Including A Halt To The Aggression On Gaza

Hamas leader Bassem Naim said that the movement informed mediators that it is ready for a new round of negotiations, but not based on the latest amendments to the US envoy Steve Witkoff’s paper, which does not guarantee a permanent cessation of the aggression on Gaza.

Naim stressed in a press statement Tuesday evening that “we cannot agree to any agreement that does not guarantee an end to the war and aggression on the Gaza Strip.”

The Hamas leader explained that “Witkoff returned in the last round with a completely different paper than the one previously agreed upon.”

He explained that Witkoff’s new proposal included vague terms that do not guarantee an end to the war on Gaza.

He believed that the countries of the world, including Israel’s allies, have become convinced that Netanyahu is the one obstructing the achievement of an agreement.

Naim emphasized that the movement and all Palestinian factions will not miss any opportunity to stop the war and aggression on the Gaza Strip and alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, provided there is a genuine guarantee.
