Iran Arrests 22 People On Charges Of Spying For Israel

Iranian police in Qom province announced on Saturday the arrest of 22 people on charges of “spying for the Israeli entity since the start of the Israeli aggression against Iran.”

The Fars News Agency quoted the head of police intelligence in the central Iranian province as saying that since the start of the Israeli aggression on June 13, “22 people have been identified and arrested on charges of links to the Israeli entity’s spy agencies and disrupting public opinion.”

Iran announced on Thursday the arrest of 24 people on charges of spying for the Israeli entity and working to distort the country’s image, according to a statement carried by the Iranian Tasnim News Agency.

West Tehran Police Chief Kioumars Azizi said in the statement, “Twenty-four people were arrested who were spying for the Zionist enemy on the ground and online.

They were trying to destabilize public opinion and distort and destroy the image of the sacred system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Police in Khuzestan province, western Iran, announced the arrest of five Israeli agents in the city of Masjid Soleiman.

They said that one of the agents received money to spread rumors, photograph sensitive sites, and incite Riots.

In a related context, the Iranian National Security Council announced that it “will give those collaborating with the Zionist regime until July 1st to hand over their drones in exchange for an amnesty.”

Iranian authorities launched a broad campaign to prevent security breaches in the country after the war exposed major security gaps in Iran following the assassinations of leaders and scholars.

Over the past week, they announced the arrest of a number of individuals in several provinces who they said had ties to the Israeli entity and its foreign intelligence agency (Mossad).
