Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro issued a passionate and urgent call for Jewish communities across the globe to take meaningful, concrete, and decisive steps to bring an end to what he described as the dangerous and destructive “war madness” being carried out by the Israeli entity under the leadership of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Maduro placed full responsibility on the shoulders of the Israeli occupation’s leaders for the brutal massacres and horrific atrocities that are being committed against innocent civilians.
Delivering his speech from the historic Miraflores Palace in Caracas during the ceremony for the 2025 Simón Bolívar National Journalism Prize, Maduro made a direct and heartfelt appeal to Jews living in Israel, the United States, and every corner of the world, imploring them to stand up courageously and unite their voices against Netanyahu’s policies, which he warned could set the stage for the outbreak of a catastrophic, unprecedented, and devastating world war that would endanger all of humanity.
The Venezuelan president went on to state that the relentless and merciless shooting of the Palestinian people has not ceased for a single day, with approximately 100 innocent lives lost each day—most of them belonging to children, women, and elderly individuals—while the so-called free world in the West continues to stand idly by, watching silently, and displaying the same shameful complicity as it once did during the horrific crimes committed by Hitler.
Maduro stressed the vital and urgent need for genuine justice to prevail and for Israeli officials who have ordered and overseen the massacres of civilians in Iran, as well as those who continue to orchestrate the extermination of innocent people in the Palestinian territories, to be brought to account and face appropriate punishment.
In drawing a historical comparison, Maduro described Netanyahu as the modern-day equivalent of Hitler, asserting that just as the Western powers once encouraged and enabled Hitler’s aggression against the Soviet Union, they are today backing Netanyahu—the so-called “Hitler of the 21st century”—in his aggression against Arab and Islamic nations and against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He further explained that Venezuela is committed to working tirelessly to open the doors to dialogue, peace, and cooperation in order to liberate the world from the looming threat of a destructive military conflict.
Maduro emphasized that he has sent clear, direct, and urgent messages to the presidents of China, Russia, and the United States, as well as to dozens of other heads of state, kings, and leaders around the world.
Concluding his speech, Maduro called upon the international community to fulfill its moral and historic responsibility to act decisively and save humanity from the catastrophe of a major nuclear war, adding, “We turn to God and pray that He may deliver us all from the horrors of such a war.”
