Merz Criticizes Israeli Actions in Gaza as “Unacceptable”

German Chancellor Friedrich has condemned the “crimes and war of extermination” perpetrated by the Israeli government against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip as “unacceptable.”

In press statements this Sunday, Merz expressed his rejection of the ongoing events in Gaza, which have continued for weeks.

Enemy forces renewed their aggression on the Gaza Strip starting at dawn on March 18, 2025, launching airstrikes across the entire enclave. This escalation reversed a ceasefire agreement with Hamas and other resistance factions, which had lasted approximately 60 days following its conclusion through American, Egyptian, and Qatari mediation.

The Zionist enemy forces reneged on entering the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, which was planned to last 42 days, to be followed by a third phase of the same duration. This entire process was intended to lead to a permanent cessation of fire and aggression.

According to the Ministry of Health, since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, 58,026 individuals have been martyred, while the number of injured has reached 138,520, with approximately 72% of them being women and children.
