UNICEF: Malnutrition Crisis Threatens Thousands of Children In Gaza

United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) warned on Thursday evening that thousands of children in the Gaza Strip are suffering from severe malnutrition due to the ongoing Israeli blockade and shortages of essential supplies.

The organization explained that severe shortages of fuel and clean water are hampering its ability to provide life-saving food aid and healthcare to children in the territory, warning that the humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate dangerously.

UNICEF added that the ongoing restrictions on the entry of essential supplies, including food, medicine, and fuel, are endangering children’s lives and making access to basic services increasingly difficult.

It noted that the current conditions could lead to a large-scale health disaster unless urgent action is taken.

The organization called for lifting the blockade and allowing unrestricted access for humanitarian aid, stressing that children in Gaza are facing one of the world’s worst food crises.
