Extremist far-right security minister Itamar Ben Gvir and thousands of extremist Jewish settlers desecrated the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem on Sunday morning and later in the afternoon to mark what they call the destruction of the alleged temple.
According to the Islamic Awqaf Administration and media sources, over 4,000 settlers, including Ben Gvir, entered the Mosque and toured its courtyards under police guard in the morning.
The Israeli occupation police reportedly closed the Mosque’s gates to Muslim worshipers as settlers were touring the Islamic holy site, and imposed restrictions on Palestinians’ access to the Old City of Jerusalem.
Settlers and Ben Gvir were also allowed openly to sing and pray inside the Mosque compound, local sources reported.
Meanwhile, scores of settlers carried Israeli flags and performed the Israeli national anthem inside the Aqsa Mosque amid intensive police presence
