The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in Yemen has issued a strong condemnation of the U.S. Department of Justice’s announcement of a financial reward for information leading to the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
In a statement, the ministry described the action as a dangerous escalation, a blatant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, and a direct assault on the sovereignty of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
The ministry stated that this hostile act clearly demonstrates a policy of American arrogance and reflects the political bankruptcy that is pushing Washington to resort to organized crime tactics after the failure of its blockade and pressure campaigns.
The ministry noted that Yemen, which has endured years of brutal American-Saudi aggression and blockade, fully understands the colonial mindset that disregards national sovereignty and the dignity of peoples. It expressed solidarity with the leadership and people of Venezuela in the face of this blatant targeting.
The Yemeni Foreign Ministry called on the international community and all free nations to take a firm stance against this American insolence, which sets a dangerous precedent in international relations and threatens global peace and security.
