UNRWA: Gaza Residents Lack Basic Hygiene Supplies

UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, has reported that residents of the Gaza Strip are facing a severe lack of basic hygiene supplies, with even simple soap becoming nearly impossible to find.

In a statement on X, the organization highlighted the stark contrast with the rest of the world: “Millions of bars of soap are sold and stocked on shelves daily around the world and can be easily purchased,” but “not in Gaza. Even soap is becoming almost impossible to find.”

UNRWA called for a regular flow of essential hygiene items, including soap, shampoo, and sanitary pads. The agency stressed that aid must reach those most in need in Gaza on a massive scale, a task it insists can only be accomplished through the United Nations, including UNRWA itself.
