The Palestinian freedom movement, known as the Al-Ahrar Movement, warned on Monday that the Palestinian Authority’s decision to cut the salaries of the families of martyrs and prisoners and transfer them to the “Tamkeen Foundation” serves Israeli occupation’s interests and undermines the Palestinian cause.
In a statement, the movement said the decision comes at a time when the Palestinian people are facing a war of genocide, amid an urgent national need to strengthen internal unity and unify the Palestinian stance in confronting ongoing Israeli crimes.
The movement said that undermining the allowances of prisoners, martyrs and wounded provides the occupation with a justification for its criminalization of the Palestinian resistance as” terrorism ” and constitutes a clear violation of legitimate national rights guaranteed under international law and the principles of humanitarian Justice.
The Al-Ahrar movement urged the leadership of the Palestinian Authority to immediately reverse the decision, stressing that the issue of prisoners, martyrs and wounded is a basic national principle and an integral part of the struggle of the Palestinian people until the occupation ends and rights are restored.
