The political bureau of Ansarullah has strongly condemned the Israeli enemy’s reported recognition of the Somaliland region, describing the move as a hostile act against the unity of the Somali state and a serious threat to regional security.
In a statement, the bureau said the Israeli enemy recognition is an illegitimate step issued by an illegitimate entity that has no legal standing to recognize states. It stressed that such a move requires Arab and Islamic regimes to shoulder their responsibilities toward collective and regional security.
The statement underscored the importance of coordinated efforts by Arab and Islamic nations, both governments and peoples, to thwart Israeli enemy interference and to support the Somali people. It warned that silence in the face of actions targeting Somalia would only entrench what it termed comprehensive Israeli enemy encroachment.
Somaliland, a self-declared republic in northern Somalia, has sought international recognition since the early 1990s, though it remains unrecognized by the United Nations and most of the international community.
Somalia’s federal government considers Somaliland an integral part of its sovereign territory, and any foreign engagement with the region is viewed as highly sensitive and potentially destabilizing for the Horn of Africa.
