Deputy Foreign Minister Abdulwahid Abu Ras met via video conference with the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy, Hans Grundberg.
During the meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister expressed the appreciation of the Government of National Accord for the efforts exerted by the UN envoy to achieve peace in Yemen and its support for his endeavors in this regard.
He reiterated that Sana’a’s hand is extended for peace and that the time has come to resume the political settlement and implement the roadmap and its humanitarian provisions.
For his part, the Special Envoy briefed the Deputy Foreign Minister on the outcomes of his recent meetings with various parties, as well as the permanent members of the Security Council.
He noted the commitment of the United Nations and the international community to achieving peace in Yemen and ending the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people.
