Dozens of extremist Zionist settlers desecrated the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem on Monday morning, on the eighth day of the Hanukkah holiday, under tight protection from Israeli police forces.
According to the Islamic Awqaf Administration in the holy city, at least 241 settlers entered the Mosque in groups through its Maghariba Gate and toured its courtyards under tight police guard.
The source said that settlers performed prayers and Talmudic rituals in the eastern area of the mosque and received explanations about the alleged “Temple.”
It added that dozens of settlers carried out what was described as “epic prostration” during their incursion into the Aqsa Mosque.
Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces tightened their measures and restrictions on access to the mosque, obstructing worshippers and Jerusalem residents, and confiscating their identity cards at the mosque’s outer gates.
