The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Thursday the death of one-month-old infant Said Asaad Abdeen in the Mawasi area of Khan Yunis due to severe hypothermia.
According to a ministry statement, Abdeen’s death brings the total number of fatalities reaching hospitals as a result of the current cold snap and winter storm to 13. Officials warned that the humanitarian crisis is being worsened by ongoing Israeli restrictions on the entry of vital medical supplies, food, and materials needed to repair basic infrastructure and provide adequate shelter.
