The German Foreign Ministry called on the Israeli government on Saturday to immediately halt settlement construction in the West Bank.
In a statement, the ministry said, “We categorically reject Israel’s decision to build more than 750 new settlement units in the West Bank.”
The ministry emphasized that settlement activity violates international law and UN Security Council resolutions.
Germany reiterated its rejection of any formal or de facto annexation of Palestinian territory, adding that it will not recognize “any changes to the June 4, 1967 borders.”
