Israeli forces raid Sebastia, close Beit Iksa checkpoint, arrest young man from Silwad

Israeli forces raided Sebastia, northwest of Nablus, on Saturday evening and closed the Beit Iksa military checkpoint northwest of Al-Quds, blocking traffic and detaining dozens of vehicles.

Mayor Mohammed Azem said Israeli troops patrolled the town provocatively.

In northeast Ramallah, Israeli forces arrested Hamdi Farid Hammad from Silwad at a military checkpoint between Silwad and Yabrud. Troops also raided Turmus’ayya and the villages of Al-Mughayr, Abu Falah, and Kafr Malik, without reported arrests.

Israeli forces regularly set up checkpoints in the West Bank to detain Palestinians.
