Libyan Chief of Staff dies in plane crash in Turkey

Libya’s Prime Minister Mohamed Al-Menfi mourned Chief of Staff Mohamed Ali Al-Haddad after contact was lost with his private plane over Ankara.

 

Turkish authorities found the wreckage near Haymana, south of Ankara. The plane, carrying five passengers including Al-Haddad, reportedly attempted an emergency landing following a technical failure shortly after takeoff from Ankara Airport.

 

Passengers included General Al-Haddad, his adviser Mohamed Al-Asawi, Major General Fattori Ghrabil, Major General Mohamed Jumaa, and Mohamed Al-Mahjoub.
