Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro affirmed on Saturday that “American pressure and disinformation campaigns aim to steal Venezuela’s natural resources,” while simultaneously emphasizing that Caracas’s message is one of peace.
According to the Al-Mayadeen website, Maduro asserted that the United States’ efforts are not directed at him personally, but rather at its ambitions for his country’s oil, gold, and rare minerals, stating, “It’s not about Maduro, it’s about the country’s natural wealth.”
Maduro expressed his readiness to explore avenues for cooperation and prosperity for his country, saying that Caracas’s message “is always one of peace, love, and understanding.”
