Dozens of settlers, headed by Israeli Settlement Minister Orit Strock, stormed the Tarousa area between Dura and Deir Samet in southern West Bank on Sunday, setting up a menorah and performing rituals.
Israeli forces forced shops in Deir Samet to close, deployed heavily along access roads, and blocked the main street connecting Dura to nearby villages for over two hours.
The government had previously approved a new settlement, “Nahal Doron,” on the area’s lands as part of plans for 19 new West Bank settlements.
In related raids, Israeli forces stormed Beit Awa west of Hebron and Nabi Saleh northwest of Ramallah, detaining several young men and searching homes and shops.
