UK, Canada, Germany & other countries condemn Israel’s plan to establish settlements in West Bank

Several countries  condemned in a joint statement issued by the British government the Israeli government’s approval to establish 19 new settlements in the West Bank of occupied Palestine.

 

The joint statement called on Israel to reverse this decision and to halt settlement expansion, according to Reuters.

 

Countries participating in the statement include the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy, Iceland, Ireland, Japan, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, and Spain.

 

The statement added: “We remind that such unilateral actions, as part of a broader intensification of settlement policies in the West Bank, not only violate international law but also fuel instability.”
