Ukraine: Seven Killed In Russian Missile Attack On Odesa

The Russian military attacked port facilities in Odesa with ballistic missiles, killing seven people and wounding 15, Ukraine’s Infrastructure Minister Oleksii Kuleba said on Dec. 19.

Odesa regional governor Oleh Kiper confirmed the attack, saying trucks and other equipment were damaged at the site. Kuleba urged the international community to respond and increase sanctions pressure on Russia.

“This evening, the enemy launched another mass ballistic attack on port infrastructure sites in Odesa,” Kiper said in a Telegram post.

“According to preliminary reports, seven people died. Fifteen more were injured and rushed to hospital. The work of first responders is hindered by the ongoing air raid alert.”

Since early December, Russia has struck Odesa Oblast almost daily with drones, glide bombs, and missiles, targeting energy and rail infrastructure. On Dec. 17, authorities declared a state of emergency in the region.
