United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) reported that 508 children in the Gaza Strip have been diagnosed with acute malnutrition, two years after the Zionist genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
UNRWA stated in a post on the X platform today, Sunday, that “Nearly 7,000 children in the Gaza Strip were screened for malnutrition, and 508 were diagnosed with acute malnutrition.”
The agency added, “This screening was integrated into the first round of the catch-up immunization campaign conducted between November 9 and 20, in cooperation between UNICEF, UNRWA, WHO, and other partners.”
The UN agency mentioned that for the twins, Lina and Layyan, “the nutritional supplements provided by UNRWA helped improve their health.”
Their mother says: “I extend my sincere thanks to UNRWA for its tireless efforts in maintaining the health and well-being of my two children.”
With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has committed genocide, blockade, and starvation crimes in the Gaza Strip for two continuous years since October 7, 2023. These actions have resulted in the martyrdom of 70,354 Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom are children and women, and the injury of 171,030 others to date, in a non-final toll.
Thousands of victims remain under the rubble and on the roads, unreachable by ambulance and rescue teams.
