An Israeli reserve officer from the Givati Brigade committed suicide following severe psychological suffering linked to his participation in the war of extermination on the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian Information Center reported on Friday that the officer, Thomas Edsgoses, 28, ended his life after a deep psychological struggle stemming from his involvement in the fighting within Gaza settlements during the first day of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7, 2023.
Quoting enemy media outlets on Thursday, the Center stated that the media speculated the officer may have suffered from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) due to the events of that day and the subsequent ground operations inside the Strip.
The Center further explained that the officer published a post just before the incident indicating that he was “no longer able to live” and was in a state of “destruction and loss,” without revealing further details about the circumstances of his suicide.
