Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi affirmed that negotiations involving threats, arrogance, and demands for unilateral and illegitimate concessions will not be effective, and Iran will not accept such methods.
This came during Araghchi’s meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, in Istanbul, where he arrived for consultations with senior Turkish officials on Friday.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated in a post on its “X” platform, monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that Araghchi clarified Iran’s position on the nuclear issue, including the experience of repeated violations of commitments by the United States and the three European countries (Britain, France, and Germany), and the criminal attack launched by the United States and the Zionist entity on Iranian peaceful nuclear facilities in June 2015.
He emphasized Iran’s determination to pursue its legitimate interests and rights in accordance with the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, pointing to the contradictory stances of American officials regarding diplomacy and negotiations, while they repeatedly resort to threats and blackmail.
According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, the Turkish minister indicated his country’s readiness to continue its efforts to promote logical and rational diplomacy, stressing the shared responsibility of all countries in the region to prevent the escalation of tensions and to prevent the spread of chaos and violations of the principles of the UN Charter.
