Badran: Hamas Fulfilled Its Commitments

Husam Badran, a senior official in the Hamas Movement, confirmed on Monday that the Movement has fully met its obligations under the ceasefire agreement, including handing over all agreed-upon living and deceased Israeli captives.

In media statements, Badran explained that the recovery of the final Israeli captive’s body in Gaza nullifies all the pretexts Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has used to delay the implementation of the agreement.

He urged mediators and guarantors to intensify their efforts and apply serious pressure to compel Israel to fully carry out the agreement’s terms, warning that continued Israeli stalling endangers prospects for maintaining the ceasefire, according to Al Jazeera.

Badran emphasized the necessity of forcing Netanyahu into withdrawing from Gaza, allowing humanitarian aid to enter, and reopening the Rafah crossing in both directions, as these are essential components of the agreed-upon commitments.

On October 7, 2023, Israel, backed by the US and Europe, carried out a campaign of genocide in Gaza, killing, starving, destroying, displacing, and imprisoning civilians, ignoring international calls and defying orders from the International Court of Justice to halt the assault.

The genocide has resulted in over 243,000 Palestinians killed or wounded, most of them children and women, in addition to more than 11,000 missing persons and hundreds of thousands displaced, all while famine claimed more lives amid the complete devastation of Gaza’s infrastructure and the erasure of entire cities and regions from the map.
