China’s mainland spokesperson, Zhang Han, warned that any country or power playing with fire on the Taiwan issue will certainly pay the price.
This came in response to the United States’ recent announcement of arms sales to Taiwan. Zhang asserted that attempts by the Democratic Progressive Party authorities in Taiwan to pursue independence by relying on the United States or force are doomed to failure, according to the Chinese news agency Xinhua.
