Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez was sworn in before the National Assembly as acting president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
In a statement published on the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry’s channel early Tuesday morning, and received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Rodríguez said, “I swear that I will not rest until I see Venezuela achieve its desired destiny and assume its rightful place in history as a free, sovereign, and independent nation.”
She added, “I swear with deep sorrow over the abduction of two heroes now being held hostage in the United States of America: President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores.”
Rodríguez called on the Venezuelan people to unite as one nation, across all sectors, in national unity, for the sake of peace, economic stability, and the social well-being of our people.
