Deputy Foreign Minister Abdulwahid Abu Ras expressed his appreciation and pride in the honorable role played by the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria during its non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council.
In a letter addressed to the Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Ahmed Attaf, Abu Ras commended Algeria’s distinguished diplomatic efforts in serving just Arab, African, and humanitarian causes, noting that Algeria was the voice of the Arab world, the African continent, and the Global South within the Security Council.
He expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to Algeria for its balanced and responsible stance on the Yemeni issue and its continued calls for achieving peace through peaceful political solutions.
He also expressed Yemen’s deep appreciation for Algeria’s supportive position on the Palestinian cause in the Security Council, a position that resonated with truth and reflected the sentiments of the Palestinian people, the Arab and Islamic nations, and freedom-loving people worldwide, this stance is a continuation of Algeria’s honorable history of supporting just causes and defending the right of peoples to freedom and dignity.
