France & Germany: Trump’s tariffs unacceptable

French President Emmanuel Macron rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to impose a 10% tariff on Denmark and European countries supporting Greenland’s sovereignty.

He stated on X that “threats of tariffs are unacceptable… Europeans will respond in a united, coordinated way.”

The German government said it is closely following Trump’s remarks and consulting with European partners to take a joint, appropriate response.

Trump announced today that the 10% tariffs, effective February 1, will apply to Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and Finland over Greenland.
