The Hamas Movement said on Saturday that Israel’s continued massacres and repeated targeting of tents sheltering displaced civilians constitute a dangerous escalation and a deliberate attempt to undermine the ceasefire agreement.
In a statement, Hamas said the ongoing bombardment carried out by Israeli occupation forces across the Gaza Strip, including a new massacre in which Israeli warplanes targeted a tent sheltering a displaced family of seven in Khan Yunis, killing all its members, represents a brutal crime and a blatant, renewed violation of the ceasefire.
The Movement said the attacks have raised the death toll across Gaza over the past several hours to 12 Palestinians, including six children.
Hamas said these continued violations and the targeting of civilians, families and children living in displacement tents, confirm that Israel’s fascist government is persisting in its genocide against the Gaza Strip, despite nearly four months having passed since the signing of the ceasefire agreement.
This, the statement said, exposes Israel’s manipulation of the agreement, its disregard for its provisions, and its contempt for the efforts of mediators and guarantor states.
The Movement renewed its call on the countries guaranteeing the ceasefire agreement and on the US administration to take immediate action to stop Israel’s policy of systematically undermining the ceasefire, compel it to halt the war and the massacres against civilians, and force it to fully implement the agreement without evasion or delay.
