Hamas Delegation, Turkish Intelligence Chief Discuss Second Phase Of Gaza Ceasefire

A high-level delegation from the Hamas Movement met on Saturday with director of the Turkish intelligence agency Ibrahim Kalin in Istanbul.

The delegation was led by Khalil al-Hayya, Hamas’s chief in the Gaza Strip, and included senior officials Zaher Jabarin, Mahmoud Mardawi, and Mousa Akkari.

The Hamas delegation discussed with Kalin the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, and the need for the Israeli occupation regime to fulfill the requirements of the first phase.

According to a statement released by Hamas, both sides agreed to maintain consultation and joint coordination on matters of concern to the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, especially with regard to the opening of the Rafah border crossing in both directions.

The delegation conveyed the Movement’s appreciation to Turkish president Recep Erdogan for his efforts to help bring an end to the war on Gaza.

Last Friday, Hamas called on the US-formed board of peace to assume its responsibility to stop Israel’s violations and oblige it to honor its obligations under the ceasefire agreement.
