Senior Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi has strongly denounced Israel’s displacement of 15 Palestinian families from the al-Auja community in Jericho, noting that 94 families had already been expelled from the same area.
In a statement on Saturday, Mardawi described the new displacement of families from al-Auja community as “part of a systematic campaign aimed at uprooting the Palestinian people from their land” and a “full-fledged crime of forced displacement committed in full view of the entire world.”
The Hamas official affirmed that the Israeli occupation regime employs a combination of pressure, intimidation, land grab, demolitions, repeated assaults, and the establishment of new settler outposts to forcibly displace Palestinians from their communities across the West Bank.
He stressed the need for the international community to take decisive measures to restrain the Israeli occupation and curb its settlement expansion by every possible means.
