Palestinian Resistance Committees Condemn UNRWA’s Dismissal of Employees and Reduction of its Services in Gaza

The Palestinian Resistance Committees condemned today, Wednesday, the decision by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to dismiss a number of its employees and reduce its services in the Gaza Strip.

The committees considered, in a press statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), this decision to be an alignment with the attempts of the Zionist enemy aimed at ending UNRWA’s work for the purpose of abolishing the rights of the refugees from the sons of the Palestinian people.

They stated that UNRWA’s decision to dismiss its employees comes in response to and complicity with the policies of the Zionist enemy, which aims to punish all segments of the Palestinian people, and rises to the level of a political, legal, and moral crime, especially under these difficult circumstances that the people are enduring.

They called on the Secretary-General of the United Nations to urgently intervene with UNRWA to immediately retract the dismissal decision and reinstate all employees to their jobs without any restrictions or conditions.

The Resistance Committees also called on UNRWA’s administration to bear its legal and moral responsibilities towards all of its employees, warning at the same time of the humanitarian, social, and living repercussions of this arbitrary decision.
