The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, praised the presence of the Iranian people in the million-person popular marches across the country denouncing the recent terrorist acts.
He confirmed in a statement during the open session of the Assembly on Tuesday that the presence of the Iranian people has blocked the West’s path to interfering in its affairs, adding, “It is our duty to praise the presence of the million-strong Iranian people in yesterday’s marches, which recorded a new day of God’s days in the nation’s records, filled with pride and glory.”
Qalibaf continued: “Yesterday (January 13) is the day the Iranian people inscribed a great epic through their vigilant and conscious presence in the field, despite their legitimate demands, to block the path for external parties to interfere in its internal affairs.”
He said on the Al-Alam channel’s website, “Yesterday was an enthusiastic and great historic day, thanks to God Almighty and the determination of the people, and this is a resounding success for all of us, as we have a vigilant and brave people present in the field and squares.”
Qalibaf concluded, “In the end, we can only bow in reverence before this great, brave, and vigilant people, and we affirm to them that we are working diligently day and night to find solutions to the economic and living problems they are experiencing, and we hope to succeed in serving this great people and the pure martyrs and their honorable families.”
