UNICEF: 638,000 Children in Gaza Out of School

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced tragic figures revealing the scale of the educational catastrophe in the Gaza Strip resulting from the Israeli war on the Strip, which has been ongoing since October 2023. UNICEF confirmed that the education system in the Strip is on the verge of collapse.

In a press statement, UNICEF spokesperson in Palestine, Kazem Abu Khalaf, said that approximately 638,000 children in Gaza have lost their school places due to the war, while 98% of the Strip’s schools have been destroyed or severely damaged, making a return to education virtually impossible in the near future, according to the Palestine Today website.
