The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) renewed its warning about the dangers of winter for displaced people in the Gaza Strip, calling for urgent delivery of aid to the residents of the territory.
The agency stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter), as reported by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), that tents remain the only shelter for displaced people in Gaza.
It explained that Gaza residents have been forced to leave their homes and are exposed to cold, wind, rain, and flooding.
UNRWA emphasized that many residents have survived bombs and hunger, and now winter threatens their lives. The agency highlighted that the humanitarian situation is worsening and stressed the urgent need for safe access to humanitarian aid.
It called for allowing aid to enter a territory facing a humanitarian and environmental disaster, as well as ongoing mass atrocities.
The ceasefire agreement in Gaza came into effect on October 10, following a two-year continuous campaign of Israeli mass destruction. However, the Israeli army continues daily violations of the agreement and still blocks the entry of most humanitarian aid to the Strip, particularly aid provided by UNRWA.
