Officer in the Yemeni Joint Operations Room affirmed that the Yemeni Armed Forces deliberately targeted the ship in the Gulf of Aden despite its passage through the Red Sea.
Targeting the ship in the Gulf of Aden aims to send messages to the enemy that all points in the restricted zones are within our reach, the officer said.
He added that the British ship Marlin Luanda was targeted with a missile of the Red Sea type.
According to the officer, the Red Sea missile is locally manufactured and developed from the Sa’ir missile; it is a medium-range missile that operates with both thermal and radar guidance systems.
