Two people were killed and six others injured in Lebanon in a wave of Israeli airstrikes on the eastern and southern parts of the country on Sunday.
The Israeli attacks targeted areas in the eastern Beqaa Valley and several villages in southern Lebanon, the National News Agency (NNA) reported on Sunday.
A strike on a warehouse in Khirbet Selm in the Bint Jbeil district killed at least one person and injured another, Lebanon’s health ministry said.
The Israeli occupation army claimed its attack targeted a Hezbollah “weapons manufacturing site,” without providing evidence.
NNA reported that another person was killed in a separate strike in Derdghaya, east of the southern coastal city of Tyre. Several Lebanese news outlets identified the victim as Mohamed al-Husseini, a school teacher.
Despite a US and French-brokered ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel that has been in effect since November 27, 2024, the Israeli occupation army has carried out frequent strikes in Lebanon, claiming they are aimed at removing Hezbollah threats.
“Israel” also continues to occupy five points within Lebanese territory.
The Israeli occupation has leveled several villages along the borders and blocked their reconstruction, preventing their local residents from returning.
