Around 50,000 worshippers performed the Isha and Tarawih prayers on Sunday evening at the courtyards of the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, despite the restrictions and tightened measures imposed by Israeli occupation forces on the entry of worshippers.
Al-Quds Governorate said in a statement that tens of thousands flocked to Al-Aqsa Mosque and performed the two prayers in a spiritual atmosphere, despite military checkpoints and identity inspections at the mosque’s gates, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA.
It added that occupation forces intensified their military measures in the city of Al-Quds and its surroundings, as well as at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque, in an attempt to limit worshippers’ access. Over the past few days, more than 300 Jerusalemites were issued orders banning them from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque during the holy month.
