Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi warned on Saturday that there are forces in the United States working to suppress China’s development, stressing that his country prefers a cooperative path in relations between the two nations.
Speaking during his participation in the Munich Security Conference, Wang Yi said, “Some people in the United States are still trying by all means to contain and suppress China, seeking to attack it and tarnish its image,” according to RT.
He explained that relations between Beijing and Washington stand at a crossroads, pointing to two possible scenarios for the future. The first — and the better option for both sides and the world — would involve the United States adopting a rational and pragmatic policy toward China within a cooperative framework. The second scenario would be based on severing ties with China, dismantling supply chains, and moving toward comprehensive confrontation across all issues.
