Hezbollah dismissed on Sunday claims by Syrian Interior Ministry that it had dismantled a Hezbollah operation within Syria. The Lebanese group stressed that it currently has no presence on Syrian territory.
In a statement, Hezbollah’s Media Relations described claims by the Syria Interior Ministry false accusations.
“Hezbollah’s name was dragged into these accusations arbitrarily,” according to the statement.
Hezbollah’s Media Relations reaffirmed the previously announced position: “Hezbollah has no activity, connection, or relationship with any party in Syria. Hezbollah has no presence on the Syrian soil and is extremely keen on the unity of Syria and the security of its people,” the statement read.
Earlier on Sunday, the Syrian Interior Ministry said its forces had dismantled a cell that was responsible for recent attacks targeting Damascus’ Mazzeh district, claiming the weapons came from Lebanon’s Hezbollah.
