Dr. Samir Zaqout, Deputy Director of the Al-Mezan Center for Human Rights, warned of the serious repercussions for Palestinian travelers at the Rafah crossing in the southern Gaza Strip following its recent reopening.
In a statement to the Palestinian news agency Shihab, Zaqout emphasized that the humiliating treatment, violations of human dignity, and confiscation of personal belongings by Israeli forces constitute a significant deterrent to the return of Palestinians to the Gaza Strip, prompting many to consider not returning and to seek alternative places to live.
